Whenever I’m driving by myself, going on a walk, getting in some me time while the kids are napping, taking a minute for myself because I’m hella stressed, or just happen to be grocery shopping alone (don’t worry, it doesn’t happen often ), I’ll listen to a podcast lately.  I’m kinda, sorta, obsessed with them! It’s basically a fun new way for me to learn something, which feels super productive. I have several up my sleeve that I know you are going to love, so I’m bringing you my top 5 today!

I’m pretty picky with podcasts, because it MUST have good speaker. It’s kind of make it, or break it deal for me. I can’t give it a few episodes normally…it’s gotta be good right off the bat. Patience is not my strong suit.  A lot of people told me to listen to S-town, but I just couldn’t get into the story! People kept telling me to just hold on til’ it got interesting, but alas, I just couldn’t muster it and keep listening. If you can’t tell, that one didn’t make the cut.

Good storytellers are hard to come by, and because you can’t see them, they really need to do a good job being animated and descriptive, so that we can visualize what they are saying and feel like we can really follow along.

Sooooo, I wanted to share a few that I listen to, because they are super interesting and definitely have good speaker/storyteller! My list is much longer than these 5, but I wanted to bring you the 5 I’ve been constantly tuning in to, since I know they are going to awesome no matter what.

1 // Reply All

My top choice, always. This podcast is by Gimlet and the show is absolutely hilarious, and totally entertaining to a whole new level. They touch on all random topics and each one is so much different than the next. My fave episodes have to be “Blindspot” and “Is Facebook Spying on You?” If you can handle a little bit of a grimy topic, like sexual trafficking, listen to “No More Safe Harbor”.

Give it a try, because I doubt you’ll be sorry! The subjects vary from A-Z, and you’ll always leave the podcast wanting more! It’s addicting!!

2 // How I Built This

I think this is the podcast that got me into podcasts, and more specifically, this episode. I always love hearing how businesses start, and how they got to where they are today. Puts things, and people into perspective. What hard work actually looks like, and what it potentially entails. It’s mind blowing how they bring their ideas to fruition and take the next steps to make it a company. I always feel so motivated after listening to episodes from this podcast.

And for my faves…oh goodness…so many. Here are a couple that I would start with if you’re lost and don’t know which one to listen to first!

3 // Hidden Brain

This is a new podcast to me since I’ve only been addicted for a week, but a good friend turned me onto it, and there are a few that are definitely a must-listen! If you’re into learning about human behavior, this one is for you my friend.

There are multiple episodes just dissecting and explaining why we do the things we do as humans. The speaker isn’t my favorite because he can get a little dull at moments, but the content is absolutely mind blowing and therefore, it overrides the podcaster’s.

A couple that I recommend from this one are “Tunnel Vision” and “Crickets and Cannibals“. I’ll keep listening and tell you which ones I’m loving over on my Instagram!!

4 // Chompers

Another one by Gimlet that is purrrrty legit. Alright, so this one isn’t really for adults, but my kids LOVE it! It’s technically for making those teeth brushing sessions to be easier, but we normally listen to it in the car on the way to school! Each episode is literally 2-3 minutes long, and there are jokes/stories/songs/trivia/facts that are honestly super entertaining! I’ve also learned a couple of tidbits from listening! We can never know too much, so if you’re looking for some peace in your car from crazy tantrums or fights over which song we are gonna listen to (#truestory), try tuning into this. There are two new episodes daily so that ideally, your kids would listen to one in the morning and one at night while they brushed their teeth! It’s awesome, trust me!

5 // Goal Digger

This one is made for people like me who are in the whole influencing/blogger/small shop industry! If you’ve got a small biz, or are slowly trying to make you way into the blogger life, give this one a listen. She has so many episodes that will boost you up, and really give you ideas on how you tackle your challenges. I like her positivity, and while sometimes she can be a tad bit annoying, again, the content is pretty legit so I always walk away potentially having a solution to something I needed some guidance on. I also follow her on Instagram, and love her body positivity because she’s just so real!
