We celebrated Diwali over this past weekend with my parents and sister in town and it was such a blast!! If you’re confused about what Diwali is or simply don’t know what it is, it’s the Festival of Lights! It is one of the most popular festivals that are part of Hinduism. Diyas, little oil lamps made out of clay, are lit on this special day because it is said that the light creates a barrier from evil and bad spirits, that the light signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. This light protects us from negative energies.
Diwali celebrations around the world include millions of lights shining on porches, windows, of people’s houses, around temples and other buildings who observe this cultural festivity!
Nonetheless, here are some pictures from our celebrations!
It was such a fun evening to celebrate with my loves!! And I honestly wish I was in more pictures, but that’s what happens I guess when the mom is just snapping away! =)
