I started a fun series on my Instagram stories where I share fun how-to doodle videos! They tend to be relatively simple, under a minute, and really easy to follow! If you don’t follow me on Instagram, come find me there now! You can find them under the highlight “How-to Doodles”.
I have always felt that creativity is in everyone. Yes, EVERY ONE. And I have a weird thing where I literally want to pull it out of every single person because I know it’s there! HA. One of my favorite things to tell people is just to put pen to paper! If it sounds too easy, it’s because it is. Just sit down, grab a piece of paper and marker, and just doodle! I’m not kidding…just start!
Did you know that doodling is one of the best ways to express your creativity?? It turns out that it can help brighten your mood too! It’s been associated with more effective learning, increased productivity, and improved concentration. Doodling can also help you pull that creativity inside of you that you didn’t even know you had or wanted. It’s also been linked to alleviate stress and to process emotions! It’s downright therapy y’all.
Have I given you enough reasons yet to start yet??
I wanted to share some of the markers/pens I use! Click on any of the pictures in this post and it will take you to my Amazon shop page to shop it all!
My favorites are the Tombow pens and the Sharpie ultra fine point markers! For coloring the doodles in, I love the super tip crayola markers!
Don’t worry about using fancy paper! Just plain ol’ copy/printer paper will do just fine! If you want some guidance with lines, use graph paper!
Try to not get caught up on making it perfect. Just get started and doodle anything. Yes, anything. Start with any shape like a circle or a rectangle and see where it takes you. Don’t worry about the extra details either! Doodling is all about keeping it simple and letting you express a bit of your creativity. Just let it flow!
