Quinta de Regaleira was absolutely stunning. Of course anything in Sintra is bound to be a magical place! I was blown away with the castle and the grounds. It’s majestic, and absolutely beautiful! We just walked around and toured it ourselves, but you can pay for an audio tour if that’s your jam. We knew that would be hard given the kiddos.
The park has beautiful grottoes, lakes, wells, benches, fountains, and some of the prettiest hydrangeas! And they are giant!!! Like bigger than my head giant! It was amazing to see honestly. I literally couldn’t get over the sizing of the flowers. We actually never got to make it inside the castle, but I was so content with seeing the park itself, I wasn’t terribly bothered. But the ornate gothic facade on the outside was beautiful no less.
The park is also known for something called the initiation well and it was definitely fun to take the kids all the way to the bottom!
Another thing to note that it is quite a bit of walking, which is why we never made it inside the castle. The kids were tired from running around the park, so if you’re going with super tiny feet, you *may* want to bring a carrier or sorts. I can’t see the stroller being that great for this park because there is a lot of uphill/downhill situations that may not work with wheels.
There are bathrooms so no need to worry about that, but there is no food so make sure you bring some snacks for the kids!
