To be quite honest, I can’t believe I’m even on here talking about bathing suits. I cringe every year when March rolls around, and those bathing suits start to appear every where you go. You think I’m exaggerating, but I’m not even kidding. I shimmy away from those racks hella quick, because I know damn well that nothing is going to fit my mom bod.
But alas! Enter the ever amazing Amazon! I found quite a few one piece bathing suits that were totally flattering, and the best part is they were all under $30! I don’t know about you guys, but sometimes bathing suits can seem rather expensive!
Amazon has been killing it lately with random fashion finds I’ve come across, and so I figured I’d give it a shot. Low and behold, it was the best decision I made. I could prime all the suits straight to me, try it on in my house, and then return all the ones that didn’t work. I mean, c’mon! It doesn’t get any better than that! Especially for a busy mom on the go!
Now, I’m going to get down to the real-real here with you guys, and talk about my measurements and size. I weigh around 130 lbs, 5’3″, and normally wear a xsmall/small in most tops and a 4/6 in pants. My wants/needs out of a bathing suit is to somehow support my girls, because truth be told, I’m a 32G (eeeesh…thanks kiddos and breastfeeding!) and without support, I’m going to die. No like, literally die. I also would like some good tummy control/coverage options because let’s face it, I have no six pack of abs… Nearly died laughing typing that sentence. And I’m not a huge fan of my thighs, but oh well! This is what I’m dealing with today, and that’s just the honest truth! My kids don’t care about my thighs, they just want me in the pool with them! So instead of sitting on the sidelines and worrying about all my lovely cellulite, I’m just gonna put on a bathing suit and call it a day. My top priority is making those memories~ And if you’re here to judge, well I’m not so sure I want that type of negativity around me anyway. #byefelicia
Now, before we get started, I want to apologize in advance for the picture quality on this post! All my blog posts are normally shot with my DSLR, but because I didn’t have a chance to take pics near a pool, I just decided to do a selfie type post with my trusty ol’ iPhone!
Um, this one is so stinkin’ cute. I was a little worried ordering a white bathing suit, but the minute I put it on, I was hooked! The one shoulder is perfect, it’s got a big of padding, with just the right amount of support built in!
TWO // Gray Front Ruffle
This one is soooooo forgiving! Perfect for support because it has adjustable straps, and is easy to put on and chase the kids without worrying that something is going to fall out! Also, I scored this super cute kimono from TJMaxx, which I couldn’t find online so I linked a similar one that I thought was super cute!
THREE // Orange floral with Tie Knot Detail
I love that this one is high neck! If you’re worried at all about your “girls”, I feel like this one does such a good job of being modest, but cute at the same time! Plus, that little faux bow detail is adorable!
I know this is the second, one shoulder bathing suit that I’m talking about but it’s just so dang cute! Plus, I kinda loved the stripes going inward because it honestly made the suit that much more flattering and slimming in my opinion!
FIVE // Black Ruffle
Last, but definitely not least, a black one. This one is equally as forgiving as number 2. It’s got adjustable straps, and this extra layer “ruffle” that really helps the tummy! I paired it with a floral, sheer kimono, and it was literally my fave combo! Hard to go wrong with white and black, am I right?
Alright, there you have it! Have you guys shopped for bathing suits on Amazon before?! I honestly wouldn’t have thought to do so! But seriously, the options are endless and they are so affordable!
Feel free to pin it for future reference when you’re shopping for that bathing suit this summer!
