Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Mother’s Day is less than two weeks away! EEEEK! I wanted to put together a gift guide that had both thoughtful ideas, and also things you could just buy if that’s your cup of tea. Best part about it? Everything on here is under $50!!

I’m going to start with the thoughtful ones because if you’re anything like me, I love those more than anything! I got a lot of different suggestion from you guys when I took a poll on my Instagram! And then, I asked a few of my friends as well what they’ve loved over the years, and I got some of the sweetest ideas! So I wanted to share these for the mamas in your life! Or if you’re a mama, forward this onto your significant other to help them out!

The Thoughtful Gift Ideas

// A Letter

This is literally for any mother in your life. A letter to her talking about how awesome she is, or maybe you noticed a thing she did for her kids and you thought it was beautiful. Tell her! Write it in a card and send it to her. One of my readers said that she framed the card her friend sent her, and now keeps it in her bathroom for a little daily reminder that she’s got this!  Not into snail mail? That’s ok. Write her an email. The sentiment is what matters.

// A Kid Crafted Bouquet

Instead of just getting her a giant bouquet of flowers that you designed or just chose from a website, get the kids get involved. After all, it’s mother’s day! Take them to a local flower shop, and let them each pick 5-10 stems to create a big bouquet that was handpicked by the kids. While you’re there, take a video asking the kids why they’re choosing the flowers that they are. I guarantee that kids come up with the most sweet, genuine responses, and that’s my favorite thing ever! Mama will be a puddle of mush after getting the flowers and knowing why her babies picked those special ones.

// A Big Hearted Gesture

This has to be my favorite. Has she been talking about a special something lately? Perhaps it was the old rose bush that was at her old house, and she misses it because it reminded her of the fond memories of her childhood. Buy her a rose bush! Or like a friend I have, she missed having pine trees at her house after moving from Houston, and her husband went and bought her a mini pine tree to have planted in the yard!

Another example, is of my friend Lauren who had always wanted a turquoise table. Don’t know what the turquoise table is all about? Read about it here! So last year on Mother’s Day, as she was returning from running some errands, she found her husband painting their old picnic table turquoise. Tell me that isn’t the sweetest thing ever?!

My point is to maybe think about something that she’s mentioned that you could potentially bring to life. That type of gesture is something that will always win any mama over. I know you have to dig a little deep on this one, but once that idea comes to mind, you are gold!

// A Personalized Necklace

I basically love anything that has my children’s names on it. I basically want to wear it all the time! Find her a sweet personalized necklace, like this one, so she has something to wear year round with her babies’ names on it.

Ok, maybe you hated all these ideas and want to just get a little something instead for her! Or perhaps, you want to add to the gesture and get a her a lil’ something extra too! Like if you combine one of the items from below and do the kid crafted bouquet, that mama is one lucky lady!!

    Totally trendy, which I usually avoid, but I LOVE the letter board. Want one!

    I have a confession. Please don’t judge me too hard. My husband was in charge of picking out a gift for his dad for Christmas. He never did, so we never sent his mother her gift either. Here’s the worst part: I was going to send her Christmas gift as a Mother’s Day gift! I think I may throw in a few “spa” items – like the face masks – to ease my guilt a bit.

    Those are some great suggestions! When I saw the photos of the mug, I immediately thought of Stu in Family Guy trying to get his mom’s attention (my brother used the audio from that scene as his ringtone for our mom haha).
