My sister was here a couple of weeks ago and she’s been needing new glasses, so we decided to hit up Warby Parker. If you don’t know who or what this is, I highly recommend them after watching my sister’s experience first hand.
They are basically an online shop for chic, modern, affordable eyeglasses. You can go straight to the actual retail store and try them on like you would anywhere else, but they are much more affordable and super cute than!! OR, you can try their convenient at home try-on service for completely free! They will send you frames with lenses that don’t have a prescription, so you can see how they will fit your face and take pictures in the comfort of your home! You get to keep them for 5 days. Share with whomever you trust, and then send the box back. (You can learn more about it here.) Let them know which ones you would like, and in about 2 weeks time, you’ll get your own pair! Most of them are around the $95 range, and then they have some higher priced options that are in the $145 range.
I actually had LASIK done about 6 years ago (and yes, my vision is still 20/20 after having kiddos), but you guys, I still want a pair because they are just so damn cute! They also have amazing sunglasses too in case you were wondering!
I had actually first heard about Warby Parker a while back, but didn’t know much about the company until a few months ago, when I listened to their podcast on How I Built This. If you haven’t heard it yet, go give it a listen! So inspiring and definitely a cool story about how they thought about this concept and brought it to fruition.
My sister didn’t like her first box of home try-ons that arrived, so she actually ordered a second box of home try-ons and that’s where she found THE ONE. Because let’s be real. It’s a real relationship with your glasses since you’re wearing them all day. Luckily she happened to be in Austin, and we ended up visiting the store, talking with the staff, and ordering them right there instead of online. We were both amazed by how quick and seamless the transaction of buying glasses was!
Having been an eyeglass wearer from ages 10 – 25, I know how complicated the process can be. It can also be slow, and expensive. EW. Warby Parker has taken that out of the equation and created such a cool space to be able to buy glasses! I’m seriously going to recommend to everyone that this is how they should do it! HA.
Do you wear glasses? Have you ever bought them online?? If not, try Warby Parker!! =)
